Wait... WTF is a PSYKLONEXX ?

September 4th, 2025 | KIKO

As PSYKLONE celebrates its fifth anniversary, now feels like the right moment to pause and reflect on the path so far. What began as a small project with big ambitions has steadily grown into a collective finding its voice and purpose in the music world. Even with that progress, the mission remains the same: to challenge the broken parts of the industry and work toward creating something meaningful. This article looks back at the label’s journey to this point, the vision that continues to drive it, and what might lie ahead as the story keeps unfolding.

PSYKLONE originally began as a record label, a small space for ideas to take shape. Over time, it grew into a collective that moves between music, film, and fashion, guided more by instinct and curiosity than by strategy. Five years in, it’s still a work in progress — exploring, experimenting, and finding new ways to connect. The goal was never to follow the usual rules, but to shape something authentic and lasting over time, leaving traces that might inspire others along the way.

The label was founded in 2020 by Angel Synthiel (FKA K'ristian Kam'ron) and Moonboi (FKA Ian Domasang) during the global pandemic caused by COVID-19. The two, who were 14 at the time, met on Instagram. Sharing similar interests and experimenting with music, they immediately felt the need to work together. Moonboi produced beats, and Angel rapped over them. After a few months of creating demo tracks, they released their first work, Nights Before Bulls, a SoundCloud exclusive mixtape announcing the soundscape for Angel's then-upcoming first album, Bulls.

Ever since then, he's been on a run, continuing to expand his discography and showcasing his evolving style with singles such as Smile When It's Dangerous, and Avalon (2021). In October 2022, he released Arkadia, a 6-track EP, exclusively produced by Moonboi, which broadcast a clear shift in production, rapping skills, and artistry. Using atmospheric, cinematic sounds and dark, emotionally-filled writing, they aimed to recreate the feelings of darkness and confusion Angel was going through at that time.

Sadly, in February of 2023, Angel's father, Derrick Thornton, a local figure and artist in Lake Charles, was murdered, only leading Angel to more trouble and confusion. Luckily, he claims this tragedy led him to a newfound relationship with God, motivating him to keep going and find success for his late father. Only a couple of weeks later, he came back stronger than ever, with It Is What It Is, an album once again fully produced by Moonboi. Angel decided to use this dramatic event to his advantage and show the world his ambition and determination to become a pillar in this new generation of artists.

In 2024, on his father's remembrance date, Angel honored his memory by dedicating his new single SPYDAMAN, introducing his new era and persona. And just when everything started to get traction, he vanished from all radars and is still nowhere to be found...

From the beginning and creation of PSYKLONE, Moonboi has been the backbone of the label, playing the role of a sonic architect, providing beats for Angel to rap, and handling the production all on his own.

Born Ian Domasang in 2005 and raised in Québec City, Moonboi is an emerging artist and producer whose passion for music ignited at an early age. Beyond producing for Angel, he has carved out his own path with several solo releases. His debut EP, REBIRTH (2023), drew inspiration from Lil Wayne’s Rebirth, while his most recent project, the fully self-produced album RIOT (2024), showcases his evolution as both a producer and an artist.

Influenced by a plethora of artists like Ye, Travis Scott, and Mike Dean, Moonboi's sound fuses originality with a strong visual identity. Throughout the years, he has been able to showcase his versatility and creative range in both production and rapping.

On top of that, he's been storming stages throughout Montréal, building a cult-like following in his native Québec, where every performance erupts into pure chaos and visceral energy.

Founder of the brand KIKO KIKO®, Kiko — born Kisito Akpaca in 2003 — is the third and most recent artist to join the ranks of PSYKLONE. A multi-disciplinary creative from the south of France, he first connected with Angel and Moonboi on Instagram in 2021 through a mutual contact.

At the time, Kiko was reluctantly enrolled in medical school, pressured by family expectations to pursue a degree. His real passions, however, were already rooted in fashion and music. That drive led to his initial role at the label as art director and stylist for Synthiel’s then-upcoming album Arkadia. Over time, he expanded his scope, becoming PSYKLONE’s lead editor and videographer. Recognizing his full potential, Moonboi and Angel eventually signed him as an artist.

Kiko has said he is forever grateful for the trust his partners placed in him and his vision — a faith that motivated him to drop out of school and dedicate himself fully to the arts.

After dropping the singles NEW LENS ON THE SCOPE, ENFANT NÉGLIGÉ, and LA VIE EST BELLE (2024), Kisito finally released Genesis™ (2025), a project he had been shaping for more than a year and a half.

Deeply influenced by ambient music and the cloud rap wave of the late 2010s, he wove together these textures and soundscapes to carve out his own space and formally introduce his persona to the world. The choice of the title Genesis serves as a parallel to the first book of the Bible — the story of creation — while the all-white cover mirrors his intention to seek purity and righteousness in his life, and to let beauty guide his creations.
